SXSW preview Frank Fairfield trailer

The last screening of the Frank Fairfield movie, produced by More Dust Than Digital and American Standard Time’s Greg Vandy (host of KEXP’s The Roadhouse), is tomorrow, Thursday, 3/17, in Austin at the Alamo on S. Lamar at 11am as part of Documentary Shorts 1. The Alamo serves breakfast and coffee, so it’s a good way to start the day.

A 25 year-old old-time musician from Los Angeles, Frank Fairfield plays to the timeless beat of eccentricity. But this is NOT an act. His unique world-view on the natural state of things includes playing songs “that have existed forever” with complete authority and collecting old 78s from around the world. His encyclopedic mind and crate digging is on display in this short film.
