Throughout the non-English speaking world, she’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, even though she doesn’t have any tattoos at all and vows never to get one.

Noomi Rapace, born Noomi Norén on December 28, 1979 in Hudiksvall, Sweden to actress Nina Norén and Rogelio Durán, a Spanish Flamenco singer, knew early on that she wanted to be an actress, starting with a minor role in an Icelandic film, In the Shadow of the Raven, at the ripe old age of 7.

But her career didn’t really start heating up until 2007, about 20 years later, when she played a troubled teen mom in Daisy Diamond, a Danish film that garnered her some critical acclaim.

Two years later, though, she won the role that would make her a global superstar, both in Europe and in Hollywood, playing the original Lisbeth Salander in all three Swedish/Danish films of the Millennium series, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest.

Her first English-speaking role was in last year’s Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, in which she plays a French gypsy alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.

Since then, she’s been out of this world. In fact, you may recognize her as scientist Elizabeth Shaw from the Alien prequel, Prometheus.

I wasn’t crazy about the movie (seriously, it made no sense), but I did like Noomi’s performance. I thought she and Tabs were two of the best things about the film.

For her role as Elizabeth, Noomi sports a very cute short cropped ‘do, but she’s no stranger to long hairstyles, too.

Good morning! It looks like it’s going to be a sunny day out here at the edge of the earth, aka the land where wild turkeys run free.

Even though the new place is farther away from San Francisco (where my heart permanently resides), the sunrise here has the city beat.

When the sun stretches over the horizon, hundreds of red, orange and gold shades stream through the windows and dance against the walls. It’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.

Early this morning Tabs and I gazed out the living room window and watched the colors drench the sleepy hills in the distance. Well, I admired the hills. He stared the neighbor’s Siamese down, thuggish-ruggish style.

Speaking of The Hills, did anybody watch it last night? We still haven’t set up our TV and I’m missing all my trashy reality shows.

A new art installation by Wessie Ling (a London-based artist) is opening at Exhibit in East London. Titled “Game On: The World Fashion Conquest,” it is meant as an exploration of the way cities use fashion to achieve a range of goals beyond simply promoting the local fashion industries.

“The focal point for the exhibit is a catwalk, which has been transformed into a giant game board with a world map on the runway. This interactive exhibit encourages viewers to play a role in the global fashion system, more specifically the fashion weeks held in 85 cities around the globe. Ling’s game, inspired by the world domination game ‘Risk’, considers the many conflicting roles a fashion week may play in a city–from endeavouring to brand a city as a fashion capital to merely using the event to generate tourism.

Wessie Ling is a London-based visual artist whose work concerns the relation among fashion, identities, and cities. Interactive-ness is key to her work. She uses interactive installation to consider how fashion represents and connects our cultural selves. Ling is currently a Senior Lecturer at the London College of Fashion Coach Bags Online, University of the Arts London.”

When most people think “Classic Disney Princess,” Cinderella is one of the first that comes to mind.?She has a perfect fairytale story, a gorgeous blue dress, and even her own castle in Walt Disney World.?So, of course, this series would not be complete without a post about the ever so beautiful Cinderella.

Like the previous articles of this series, the purpose of this article is to use a childhood idol as inspiration for outfits that you can actually pull off as a college student.?All it takes is a little creativity!

I’ve had a blast writing posts about fashion inspired by Walt Disney’s Snow White, Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, and Walt Disney’s The Little Mermaid, and I’m excited to continue the series with the rest of the Princesses, as well as other Disney characters and villains. Now, read on for Cinderella!

About Cinderella: Plot Overview

The story begins with Cinderella’s life as a servant: once a normal child and the apple of her father’s eye, Cinderella’s life was turned upside down when her father unexpectedly died. Upon her father’s death, Cinderella’s stepmother, Lady Tremaine, and her two evil stepsisters, Drizella and Anastasia, forced her to become their servant.

One day, the King of the land invites every unmarried woman to a ball because he is determined to find a suitable wife for the Prince. Lady Tremaine, thinking her terms would make it impossible, tells Cinderella that she can go to the ball if she finishes all of her chores and finds a decent ballgown to wear.? Her friends, the mice and birds, help her to finish her chores and make a dress. When she puts on the dress in front of her family Coach Outlet Online, her wicked stepsisters are so jealous of her beauty that they tear it apart. In tears, Cinderella runs to the garden while her family leaves for the ball without her.

All hope is not lost, however: in the garden, Cinderella meets her magical fairy godmother, who transforms her torn dress into a beautiful ballgown, a pumpkin into a carriage, and the mice into coachmen. She also gives Cinderella a gorgeous pair of glass slippers. She tells Cinderella she can go to the ball, but warns her that the spell will expire at the stroke of midnight.

At the ball, Cinderella and the Prince fall in love with each other and dance the night away. So consumed by the Prince, Cinderella forgets to check the time, and at the stroke of midnight, she realizes her mistake and runs away as quickly as she can. All that is left of her is a single glass slipper, which the Prince finds and keeps.

Determined to find his true love, the Prince goes to every household and asks each girl to try on the slipper. After narrowly escaping being locked in the attic by Lady Tremaine, Cinderella tries on the slipper and it is, of course, a perfect fit. She marries the Prince and they, of course, live happily ever after.

1. Cinderella the Servant

As a servant, Cinderella was not allowed to wear anything as fancy and elaborate as the clothes her stepsisters wore; her outfits were plain and simple.

The outfit I made to channel her look is comfy and casual, but is a bit beyond your average tee and shorts. The colors tone down the outfit so that it isn’t flashy, but the feminine details draw just the right amount of attention. Wearing this outfit doesn’t require you to be a servant, but it looks so comfortable that you probably wouldn’t mind getting on your feet and doing a few chores in it!

2. Before the Transformation

When Cinderella ran to the garden, she was very upset that her stepsisters had ruined her beautiful dress, although in reality, she still looked great on screen. I decided to recreate this scene through an outfit with a one-shouldered pink dress, and floral accessories inspired by the garden.

3. Casual Cinderella

Cinderella meets the Prince while wearing an extravagant blue dress, but you don’t need an invitation to a royal ball to be inspired by it.

The outfit below includes a more casual blue dress that is simple, although the intricate details and cream colored accessories make it feminine and elegant as well. The mouse ring gives a nod to Cinderella’s loyal mouse friends nfl jerseys cheap, and the watch locket necklace is to make sure you remember when the clock strikes midnight.

4. Cinderella at the Ball

If you do have to get dressed up for a formal occasion, Cinderella can be a great source of inspiration.

For the outfit below, I paired a gorgeous blue dress with significant Cinderella accessories. In today’s society, clear heels are often thought of as not-so-classy (although Prada has done some great lucite heels that are, unfortunately, way out of my budget) so I decided not to include the iconic glass slipper. To make up for that, though, I did include lucite jewelry and a clutch with a lucite handle in reference to it.

I love this outfit simply because it’s classy, girly and trendy all at the same time. Black skinny jeans tend to have a little bit of a rocker vibe, but the pop of pink in the silky shirt along with the pearls and bag give it a feminine touch. So often you see girls dressing very seductively (and not necessarily in a femme fatale way) to go to bars and clubs. Why not go classy instead? This outfit is totally put together, but adding the pumps still gives it a sexy vibe.

Outfit #2: Casual (and Fashionable) Friday

Blazer – Spiegel, Striped Top – Republic, Ring – Forever21, Essie Nailpolish in Bordeaux – Amazon, Cut-Out Booties – Forever21

This outfit is perfect for a Casual Friday at work. (Depending on your work environment, this look may also be appropriate for the regular work week!) Nude toned shoes are one of my favorite trends right now, so these booties are definitely hot. The cocktail ring incorporates the nude color as well. The yellow blazer is outrageous and adds a huge burst of color to this outfit – it’ll brighten up a wintery day or make a spring day even happier. The striped shirt is a great, simple trend that spices up every outfit, and the Essie nail polish adds sophistication and fun.

Outfit #3: Model Off-Duty

Boyfriend Button Up – Pacsun, Tank Top – Old Navy Coach handbags, Aviators – Topshop, Belt – Topshop Coach Outlet, Leopard Flats – Piperlime, Chain Bangle – Monsoon

To me, this outfit screams “street wear” and reminds me of something you’d see a model off-duty wearing on the streets of New York. It incorporates so many great trends: the boyfriend button up, leopard flats, and chain-inspired jewelry. It’s a bit grungy and relaxed (boyfriend button up and tank) yet still put together (black jeans and flats). I would definitely throw this on for class any day.

Outfit #4: Rainy Day

Trench Coat – American Eagle, V-Neck Shirt – Old Navy, Pearls – Monsoon cheap louis vuitton purses, Rain Boots – Nordstrom, Headband – Fashion Headbands

Does this outfit channel Audrey Hepburn in the final scene of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and Blair Waldorf or what?

I love classic pieces such as trench coats and pearls. In my opinion, the coat, headband and pearls make this entire outfit on their own. The headband’s burst of color against the neutral/classic palette is so Blair-esque in my opinion! I used pearls in many of my outfits for this installment because they add such a feminine touch to any outfit and can totally pull together any look.

Outfit #5: Romance

Tank Top – H&M Coach Purses, Faux Fur Jacket – Oasis, Shoes – Forever 21, Bag – Asos, Pearl Bracelet – Fantasy Jewelry Box

This outfit is so girly and romantic. The pinks, nudes and browns are so beautiful together Discount Coach Purses, but the black jeans make the whole look very modern and sleek as well. Faux fur and nude tones (once again) are hot and classy trends that I think every girl should try at least once. This outfit is perfect for a romantic date with your boyfriend or just any night when you’re feeling ultra girly and glamorous.

According to reports, Noemie was devastated by her boyfriend’s legal troubles. Noemie Lenoir had been dating Swiss millionaire Carl Hirschmann when he was accused of blackmail, extortion and engaging in sex with minors. Noemie is also still devastated that her ex-boyfriend Claude Makelele cheated on her and that he refused to reconcile their relationship. Claude and Noemie have a five year old son named Kelyan.

It has been speculated that Alexander McQueen committed suicide because of financial troubles and the death of his mother, and that Daul Kim committed suicide because of the pressures of being a model. The reasons for Ambrose Olsen’s suicide are still unknown, but I can’t help but wonder whether the industry is to blame in some way for all three deaths, as well as the attempted suicide of Noemie Lenoir.

In a recent New York Times interview, Joerg Koch, editor in chief of 032c Magazine, told Cathy Horyn,

If we were doing the magazine without any fashion stories, life would be super easy. Seriously. You can��t imagine. The magazine would run on auto-pilot. It would be a pleasure to produce.

When asked why fashion makes 032c so difficult to produce, Joerg said discount coach handbags,

It��s the people in the industry. I don��t think you will ever meet so many unhappy people. People in the fashion industry are really contaminated with bad habits. For every success story about a model that rises to the top without succumbing to alcohol, drugs or depression, there are hundreds more stories of people in the fashion industry that end up penniless, unhappy or dead. I’ve been reading MODEL by Michael Gross and House of Versace by Deborah Ball and both books are full of stories about how ugly the beautiful world of fashion is.

Taylor Momsen has come a long way from pearls and plaid. In the past three years she ditched the golden curls for long platinum locks and traded her Constance Billard uniform for some heavy black eyeliner and lace stockings. Looks like Little J. is all grown up and ready to rock.

Not only is Taylor Momsen the face of Madonna’s new clothing line, Material Girl, but the brooding teenager is also the front woman of alt-rock band The Pretty Reckless.?The Pretty Reckless released their EP on June 22nd to favorable reviews coach handbags sale online, and their full debut album, “Light Me Up,” is scheduled for a August 31 release.
